Athens, TX

When Southwestern Watercolor Society had its fall plein-air paint-out in Athens, TX recently, I found some of my favorite subjects.  This is an old factory near downtown.  I was not alone.  About six of us painted this scene.

Nearby I stumbled on the trifecta -- three of my favorite subjects all together: an old building, a RR crossing and a water tower.  On a beautiful, clear fall day, I was one happy painter.

Jewish Prayer

Here's the finished painting that I did for a special Jewish friend.  The prayer is one he says to start each day.  It translates to: "I thank You, living and eternal King, Who has returned my soul into me with compassion -- great is Your faithfulness."  So this posting is also for all of my Jewish friends.

Fog Rolling In

Imagine standing at the edge of a bay . . . storm clouds make the air damp and heavy, and fog is rolling in.

Cottonwood Creek at Sunrise

Those who know me, recall that I like to paint landscapes with the sun either rising or setting.  A few days ago, as I walked my dog at UTD near our home, I was moved by a view of the early sun reflected in Cottonwood Creek.  For more of my landscapes, click here: http://on.fb.me/1TBzQgU

Ladybug . . . again!

I first painted this more than a year ago, but my ladybug friend turns out to be a real diva . . . she wanted in the painting.  So there she is!  For more of my floral and still life paintings, click here: http://on.fb.me/1RZDC2X.

The Gardener

Today I finished this.  Picture an old worker of the soil in a small European town, working in his garden.  For more of my landscapes, click here: http://on.fb.me/1TBzQgU

More Night Scenes

Here are three more night scenes.  To see even more of my night scenes, click here: http://on.fb.me/1moSO04

Imagine returning from a midnight sail or fishing trip . . . you might see this.

This is called "Deck Party."  It's on my "wanna-be" yacht.

This is our son's home in Garland, Texas.

Night scenes

Lately I've reviewed some night scenes I've painted over the years.  Here are a few.

This is one of my first, titled "First Light."

I call this "After Mountain Vespers."

Several years ago, a group of painters visited Weatherford, Texas.  We stayed here, a B and B called Angel's Nest.
